Jacob was in the water as an infant and has kept active in various sports, Special Olympics, even a year in Jr High wrestling. He became a Rocky enthusiast early on and may be the only special needs young man in America that will go to his gym in the basement and work out while watching Rocky movies.
We want to serve others in the special needs community through our exercise program at Grace Church that began in 2012. WHO WE ARE
Jacob’s Ladder Special Needs Fitness was conceived by founder, Tony D’Orazio and his oldest son, Ray Erker, out of love and concern for Tony’s youngest son, Jacob D’Orazio. Jacob has Down Syndrome, and from his very young days, Tony and wife, Karen, taught and encouraged him to be physically fit and to eat as healthily as they could manage. Tony and Karen researched nutritional information for children with Down Syndrome and discovered how important eating healthy is for kids like Jacob.
Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name, welcomes Me…
